Spectrum requirements can be matched to crop, growth stage, fixture format and commercial objective through selected manufacturing platforms.
Projects may start from an established full-spectrum platform or from a defined mix of white, deep-red, far-red and optional UV channels. The practical choice also depends on efficacy, thermal load, diode availability and target cost.
A useful brief includes the crop, photoperiod, target PPFD or DLI, mounting height, control method and any reference spectrum. Candidate suppliers can then return spectral data, electrical details and sample options on the same basis.
For multi-channel products, control architecture, channel limits, connectors and commissioning requirements are considered together with the spectrum.

Define the spectrum development brief
Provide the crop, growth stage and purpose of the requested spectrum, together with any reference curve. Distinguish a fixed recipe from independently controlled channels. The same target curve can lead to different fixture arrangements depending on the output, mechanical format and control requirements.

For sample comparison, agree which measurements and growing conditions will be kept constant. Identify the reference fixture, target mounting position and operating schedule. Keep the accepted spectral file and channel settings with the model reference so a repeat order can use the same specification.
