Application requirements and fixture matching

In an enclosed room, the lighting system is the primary photon source and a major electrical and cooling load. Canopy size, crop stage, mounting clearance, target PPFD/DLI and HVAC limits should be defined before a fixture is selected.

Common fixture formats and comparison points

Foldable multi-bar fixtures, linear bars and high-output boards can be matched to different room geometries. Useful comparisons include complete-fixture PPF and PPE, crop-plane uniformity, dimming, thermal limits, serviceability and control compatibility.

Prepare a room-level lighting brief

Provide the canopy footprint rather than floor area alone. Aisles, equipment and access zones should be shown separately so the fixture layout follows the productive growing area. Include ceiling restrictions, plant height and any existing lights that will remain in service.

For a multi-room facility, list the rooms by crop stage and operating schedule. This helps compare independent control zones and phased deliveries. Ask for the sample setup and production proposal to use the same fixture, driver, dimming and mounting configuration.
